Story:

We have been asked to forward this message from Alis Oancea at the Oxford University Department of Education:

As a celebration of Richard Pring’s lifelong contribution to the field of education, we thought it would be a fitting gesture for his friends and colleagues to commission a portrait of him. The portrait would sit in the Department of Education at the University of Oxford, alongside portraits of other distinguished departmental members such as Jerry Bruner and Harry Judge. The portrait will be painted by Beth Marsden; some of her other commissioned works are illustrated here.

In order to raise the funds we are using the established crowdfunding organisation Just Giving. In order to make a donation – however small or large simply go to this website.  The fundraising campaign is time limited. Donations need to be made BEFORE THE 5TH OF JULY 2016.

The names of the donors will be recorded in a book that we will present to Richard alongside the portrait. We would hope to have the funds raised and the portrait completed sometime before the end of this year.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either of us directly at the addresses below. John Furlong and Alis Oancea
