Summer School 2016

The Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain and the University of Birmingham will be hosting an International Postgraduate Summer School on Philosophy of Education from Monday 4th - Friday 8th July 2016.
This is an excellent opportunity for outstanding graduate students from around the world to engage with eminent philosophers of education on a beautiful university campus located in the heart of England. The Summer School comprises a week of intensive seminar discussions with internationally acclaimed philosophers. Seminar sessions will be based on thematic readings selected and distributed in advance. Participants will also have opportunities to discuss their own work in progress.
The theme for 2016 is ‘Religion and Education’ and the Lead Tutor is Michael Merry, Professor of Philosophy, Department of Child Development and Education, University of Amsterdam.
Applications are invited from postgraduate students with backgrounds in education, philosophy or related disciplines.
Funded by the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain, successful applicants from universities throughout the world will receive a bursary to cover tuition fees, course materials and on-campus accommodation and meals for the duration of the Summer School. Please note that travel expenses are not covered - applicants are required to fund their own travel.
