Brunel University London is seeking to invest in a series of strategic appointments within the Department of Education to continue to build on our recent outstanding successes in both research and teaching and to develop our continuum of provision.
- In REF 2014 60% of our research was identified as world leading or internationally excellent; 90% of our impact was graded as internationally excellent; this made us the most improved education Department in terms of 3* and 4* outputs and impact.
- Research in the Department is focused on STEM Education, Pedagogy and Curriculum, Teacher Education and Professional Education, Social Justice, Inclusive Education, Educational Theory and Policy.
- We were graded ‘Outstanding’ for both PGCE Primary and Secondary ITE provision in our Ofsted inspection of 2015.
- We offer a continuum of provision including: BA Education; PGCE Primary and Secondary programmes with QTS; MA in Education; MA in Teaching; Professional Doctorate in Education (EdDoc); PhD in Education.
For this post we invite applications from candidates with a strong international research profile in one or more of our main areas of research who are willing to contribute to research capacity building in our Department; we particularly welcome applications from scholars with strengths in the theory and history of education and those who bring experience of working in settings outside of the UK. The candidate will be expected to participate in at least one of the research centres and / or hubs in the College of Business, Arts & Social Sciences.
