In addition to the Board of Trustees, PESGB has the following boards and committees:
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board provides advice, support and challenge to the Board of Trustees. It can make proposals and recommendations, but has no decision-making powers. It normally meets once annually. The Advisory Board has up to ten members, comprising the President of the Society and up to nine Vice-Presidents. Meetings may be chaired by any member of the
Board.
JOPE Editorial Board
The JOPE Editorial Board provides advice, support and challenge to the JOPE Editor. It normally meets twice annually. The Board is chaired by the JOPE Editor and has up to 30 members, including the Co-Editors, Assistant (Responsible) Editors, IMPACT Editor and Book Reviews Editor. The IMPACT Editorial Board is a subcommittee of the JOPE Editorial Board.
Committees
Conference Committee
The Conference Committee oversees the Society’s annual conference, including the programme, budget, venue and submission review process. It normally meets twice annually. It is chaired by the Conference Chair and has up to eight members, including the Conference Organiser. The Conference Submission Review Panel is a subcommittee of the Conference Committee.
The Grants Committee manages the Society’s Large and Small Grants schemes. It normally meets twice annually and has up to eight members, including the Small Grants Coordinator.
The Development Committee supports initiatives to bring philosophy of education to the attention of new audiences and to facilitate networking across different institutions and disciplines. It oversees the PESGB Summer School. It normally meets twice annually and has up to eight members.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee manages internal and external communications, specifically through the Society’s website, newsletter, blog and social media accounts. It normally meets once annually and has up to eight members, including the Website Editor, News Editor, Blog Editor and Social Media Editor.
