A new multidisciplinary literature using systems and complexity theory to analyze civilizational collapse and assess extreme ecological and technological risk has begun to talk about the possibility of post-apocalyptic survival. Many scholars now routinely warn of the risk of global ecological collapse with climate warning, mass extinction, biodiversity loss, pandemics as well as threats from technology. Against this background, I introduce the French school of ‘collapsology’ and inquire of philosophy of education in a time of crisis.
