This conference will bring together academics and practitioners with interests in the relationship between mental health and the humanities. It will explore questions such as: what can we learn from the humanities about the nature of mental health? Are humanities approaches to mental health different to those of psychology, therapy and medicine? Should humanities subjects be given more priority within schools’ mental health agenda?
The conference will involve talks with time for Q&A, as well as more interactive sessions, including a shared reading/discussion session (the reading will be circulated to delegates in advance of the day).
Attendance is free. Spaces are limited. Booking link here.
Conference organisers: Alison Brady and Emma Williams.
Funded by the British Academy and Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain.
