Doug Yacek is Research Fellow in Educational Foundations at the Technical University of Dortmund and Lecturer in Ethics and Intercultural Competence at the University of Police and Public Administration North Rhine-Westphalia. He has research interests in the ethical dimensions of pedagogical practice, the theory and practice of democratic education, teacher training research, and the history of pedagogical thinking. He is the author of Transformative Learning: Rethinking Instruction (2023) and The Transformative Classroom: Philosophical Foundations and Practical Applications (2021), and a co-editor of Moral Education in the 21st Century (2023) and The Cambridge Handbook of Democratic Education (2023).
