ABSTRACT: In societies where work is necessary for people to maintain a certain standard of living, one of our educational aims should be to prepare individuals to navigate work environments successfully. I argue that this can best be achieved through introducing a school subject dedicated to work. The subject of Work would equip individuals with the knowledge and dispositions required to navigate the unjust world of work, to combat oppressive work structures and to create the potential for social transformation in making labour markets more just.
