The Necessity of Aesthetic Education by Laura D’Olimpio

You are invited to a panel discussion to celebrate the publication of Laura D’Olimpio’s ‘The Necessity of Aesthetic Education: the place of the arts on the curriculum’ (Bloomsbury, 2024). Three respondents will reflect on the defence of aesthetic education: Kristjan Kristjansson (Professor of Character Education and Virtue Ethics at UoB’s Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues), Elizabeth O’Brien (Assistant Professor of Teacher Education at Maynooth University) and Simon Larter-Evans (Principal of Tring Park School for the Performing Arts). Michael Hand will chair the panel and Laura will offer a reply. This event is hybrid and for those attending in person, drinks and nibbles will be provided.
