Rachael Shillitoe is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in the Department of Theology and Religion, University of Birmingham. Her research is primarily in the areas of childhood studies, education and sociology of religion and sits in conversation with anthropology of religion and ethics. Her PhD examined children’s experiences of collective worship and assemblies in school. Rachael has a forthcoming book entitled Negotiating Religion and Non-religion in Childhood: Experiences of Worship in School(Palgrave Macmillan, 2024).
