Helen Brown Coverdale is Lecturer in Political Theory in the Department of Political Science, University College London and a Research Associate at the University of York Law School. Her research centres on the ethical qualities of interactions between individuals and the state and her interests include penal philosophy, equality, and care and relational ethics. Prior to her academic career she worked in the criminal justice sector and as a researcher in the Westminster Parliament.
