Paulo Freire is a well-known Brazilian educator. In Paulo Freire a philosophical biography(2021, Bloomsbury), I have tried to re-invent Paulo Freire’s statement that education is political through five concepts: life, equality, love, errantry and childhood. After a brief presentation of the outlines of each chapter the seminar will focus on one of these themes.

Walter Omar Kohan is Full Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, Brazil. He has authored or edited more than 50 books. His publications in English include Philosophy and Childhood (2014),    The Inventive Schoolmaster (2015) and Childhood, Education and Philosophy (2015).
