CONFERENCE ON THE INTEGRATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION
In 1950, Alan Turing proposed the famous ‘Turing Test.’ He asserted that if people cannot distinguish whether they are conversing with a human or a machine, the AI can be considered intelligent. After 74 years, in 2024, ChatGPT-4 became the first AI to pass the Turing Test. Although whether it can be deemed “intelligent” is still debated, this milestone represents significant progress in AI, bringing us closer to achieving human-level intelligence. As AI continues to evolve, it has been integrated into numerous aspects of daily life, transforming the way we live. The field of education, in particular, is experiencing a significant impact from this wave of AI integration.
The integration of AI into education has the potential to revolutionize teaching and learning. Previously, only interactions between human intelligences occurred within the educational context. However, with the advent of AI, human intelligence now interacts with artificial intelligence. As AI becomes increasingly prevalent in education, the importance of the relationship between humans and AI must be emphasized. It is crucial to consider the implications of AI’s growing role in education and how it will affect human-AI interactions.
The themes of this conference reflect the multifaceted nature of AI’s impact on the relationship between humans and AI in the educational context, from its role in teaching and curriculum development to enhancing educational equity and ethical considerations. By addressing these critical themes, we aim to foster a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between humans and AI. Additionally, we are eager to find principles or examples that guide humans to interact with AI appropriately.
